Support Groups and Speaker Programs
The
Camden County Family Support Organization provides one on one
family support, support groups, and speaker programs dealing
with issues that directly effect the lives of the families of
children with issues surrounding emotional, behavioral and
mental challenges in our county.
Parents
Empowering Parents
Being
a parent today is not easy. But getting help is.. You are not
alone.
A parent
group that is a safe, accepting, non-judgmental place to talk
freely about being a parent. Working together to share with
one another more effective ways of providing safe and caring
homes for their children. Meetings are held every Tuesday
and Thursday
nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Merchantville office. (If
this is your first time at our parent's group, please check with
us to confirm the meeting time. Calendar is subject to change.)

Because I Love You (B.I.L.Y.)
"Because I
LOVE YOU" ( B.I.L.Y ) is a parent support group designed to help parents
whose children (of all ages ) have behavioral problems. Speaker
Programs The Camden County Family Support Organization provides
families an opportunity to find out about specific topics.
Each month (starting in September through June) a different
topic will be addressed at two area location.
It is the hope of our
organization that parents/caregivers use the information provided by
this program to empower themselves to be strong advocates for their
child/children.
National Alliance on Mental
Illness
(NAMI)
NAMI is a nonprofit, grassroots,
self-help, support and advocacy organization of
consumers, families, and friends of people with
severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia,
schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder,
major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive
disorder, panic and other severe anxiety
disorders, autism and pervasive developmental
disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity
disorder, and other severe and persistent mental
illnesses that affect the brain.

Anonymous
The mission of
Parents Anonymous of New Jersey, Inc. is to
protect children by strengthening families. We
provide mutual support and parent leadership in
free, professionally facilitated self-help
groups for parents statewide.

Grandparents Support Group
A
support
group for women and men who are caring for their children's children
as their own - who are, in effect, raising a second family.
Through self0help, people who have in common a similar life
situation come together to share feelings, experiences, resources,
and networking skills. Members draw strength, comfort and
knowledge from one another.

Youth
Partnership
The Youth Partnership is a group of dynamic young people who want
their voices to be heard by the mental health system. Our
Youth Partnership is active in weekly meetings, projects and events.

Help Group Clearinghouse

The New Jersey Self-Help Group Clearinghouse provides information,
telephone support, guidelines and training services for persons
interested in finding or forming self-help groups throughout New
Jersey. The first statewide and the first computerized operation of
its type in the nation, the Clearinghouse maintains and continually
updates a database of information on over 4500 group meetings within
the state, over 800 national headquarters and demonstrational models
and over 200 helplines and hotlines.
