In
order to give you
some background into the new concept of “Child-Family Team”,
I would like to give you my background that
led me to the position of Director of the Camden County
Family Support Organization.
I am the adoptive parent of a young male adult. , who has
struggled with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges for
most of his 22 years. A core component of the initiative is
that all those who work with the Family Support
Organization are parents of children with challenges.
This fact, alone, gives us unbelievable credibility with the
parents and guardians we serve. We know how it feels, and we
know what it is like to raise a child with challenges.
We
provide support, education and advocacy to families like ours in
Camden County. This
is quite unique when compared to other organizations.
